Breathe in.... breathe out. Serene and spiritual - that is what your yoga class should be all about. But wait! What happens when your body decides to go out on a limb and take over your calm ambiance? You need to know how to handle such embarrassing situations with a touch of class and a little bit of style!
1. Pass on the gas
In order to avoid a gassy situation, there are a few things to keep in mind. Do not opt for a gas provoking meal hours before your yoga class. Skip the beans, meat, onions, and broccoli on your yoga day, and in addition, perform certain poses (such as forward bends and twists) with care if flatulence is going to be an issue.
2. Keep it fresh
You don't want to be the stinky yoga fan that others try to avoid. Be sure to wear an appropriate anti-perspirant and make sure your clothes are clean. You may have only worn your workout wear once but the existing bacteria combined with sweat will cause you to let off some unpleasant body odor. Beware.
3. TMI (aka too much information)
Short shorts combined with certain bends and twists can offer a show that others do not want to see! Prevent revealing too much skin by wearing properly fitting garments. Loose fitting workout wear will shift when changing position, offering too much information to say the very least.
4. Cover up your lady parts
If you choose NOT to wear full underwear, make sure your yoga pants are not transparent for goodness sakes. Inspect your pants for holes and avoid showing off your butt crack and other private parts – it truly isn’t pretty. The person behind you doesn’t want a peak show!
