Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world," the singer's representative said in a statement to People.
"Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably," the statement added.
The singer announced her pregnancy in May, two weeks before her 50th birthday, after revealing she was postponing her tour because she was planning a family with husband Wissam Al Mana a month earlier.
"We're in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change," Jackson explained in a video posted to Twitter on April 6. "I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour."
"Please, if you could try and understand that it's important that I do this now," said. "I have to rest up, doctor's orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can."
So what is the meaning behind the name? According to BabyNamesPedia, Eissa means Yahweh is salvation or God is salvation.
