It’s hot, it’s humid, and your butt is suffering from it all. A topic many don’t seem to like to talk about… butt acne is something many of us endure. Officially called folliculitis, it’s great to know that there are things we can do to combat this slightly embarrassing dilemma! Here it goes:

 

1. Use benzoyl peroxide

One way to get rid of your unsightly buttcne is to use a product that combats this issue deep down. There are several body washes on the market that have an important ingredient called benzoyl peroxide – generally used in face applications to conquer pimples. This is a must-have potion for getting rid of those dreaded bumps because it does the job by drying up the issue at hand and sloughing off the dead cells that are clogging up your poor old follicles.

 

2. Invest in salicylic acid

Prevention is crucial! So in order to prevent future breakouts on your derriere, stock up on cleansing pads that will get the job done. What to look for? Cleansing pads with a special little ingredient called salicylic acid; this stuff will keep pores unclogged in the first place.


3. Rinse after a workout

After every sweat session in the gym (or out of the gym)… be sure to hit the shower! Sitting around in damp workout attire or a wet bathing suit will definitely encourage butt bumps, so vow to jump in for a rinse as needed. You want to get rid of all that moisture and bacteria ASAP.

 

4. Use cream with lactic acid

Body creams that contain lactic acid will be so beneficial for your bum by exfoliating dead skin cells, one of the keys to keeping your butt smooth and bump-free. Before you know it, you will be strutting your stuff with a baby’s bottom!

 

5. Pay attention to your diet

Many studies have proven that diets with a large percentage of processed foods and refined sugar can contribute to an increased appearance of acne – on the face, and on the butt. So, ingesting healthy foods with natural, healthy fats can help you to keep your skin clear and spot free. Avocados and healthy nut are the way to go!
