Athletics and Tony Baroud have long gone hand in hand. Always the sportsman, he has also done his share of TV commentating, acting, hosting, supporting of charitable events, and of course, we all know him for his latest television program Ahla Jalseh on LBC. Always the funny guy, he shares some of his habits and lifestyle choices with Fit’n Style Magazine!

In the Beginning…

As a child, what did you dream of becoming?

A sportsman.


Have you always enjoyed sports?

A lot! It has always been my real passion.


When did you first discover that you had talent?

In the beginning at school; I participated in all kinds of sports competitions and I was always the first by far. In regards to studying… the last by farrrrrrr!


Where did you go to school and what did you study?

Sorry… don’t have time to name them all (lol) Saints Coeurs, S.J. Antoura, Central, N.D. Louaize.... Not bad eh?


Did your family always support you in your career?

They wanted me to become a doctor of course; but later on they were proud and supported me.


Who did you admire growing up as a child?

My father for sure.


Lifestyle Choices…

Do you workout or exercise, and if so, what do you do?

Actually, I’m still playing basketball and I also play professional squash. I love competition.


Do you consider your lifestyle healthy? How so?

Yes, starting with my family, friends, and all the people around me… and by always thinking and planning how I can help my community in all kinds of charity events as a public figure.


Do you follow a special diet plan?

Yes – I believe your diet should be a lifestyle. We should have a permanent “diet” and not necessarily make it difficult, just controlling.


Has weight ever been an issue for you?

Yes… but I am not obsessed with it.


What do you enjoy doing when you have spare time?



Do you have any other hobbies?

How do you define your life?

Family, love, sacrifice, compromise, passion, and peace.


What gives you the most pleasure in life?

Success in my work.

The health and future of my family.

Thinking out loud with a group of people.

Not really.


What is the best advice you have ever been given?

If you’re angry, count to 10. If you fly into a rage, count to 100.


What is your ultimate dream?

Having a #1 show on T.V.


Who or what has touched you most deeply in your life?

The death of my father.

Her eyes (expression).

Her smell.

Balance, respect, compromise, sharing, and love.

It is a must… but not really important to me.


If you can change one thing about you, what would it be?

To have the ability to stop being slow in making major decisions.

Read and pray.

7 to 8 hours.

I can cry a lot, it depends on the situation.

Trying to always be creative.

Did you know…

  • Tony says being on TV and in the media is continually stressful.
  • He was captain of the Lebanese basketball team for 15 years!
  • He did not expect to enter the world of television entertainment programs.
  • Tony claims that everything he has accomplished did not happen by chance. It has all been due to his personal effort and for taking advantage of available opportunities.
  • His restaurant in Kaslik, Qube, has expanded. He opened a new location in Dubai just over one month and a half ago.
